Thoughts on Luke 1:67-80

In the Christian tradition, people regard John the Baptist as the Messiah announcer of his day. Many of the people were expecting the physical Elijah to return. However, John the Baptist exhibited the attitudes and behaviors of the spirit of Elijah. John the Baptist was the Elijah of his day announcing that the Messiah, Yeshua, had returned to the world to offer salvation and redemption.
